Sacro Monte dei Piloni di Montà
An evocative place of worship of pre-Roman origin, with the Romanesque Church of Saints James and Philip the Minor, the thirteen chapels of the Via Crucis containing plaster statues that narrate the Passion of Christ, the Holy Sepulcher immersed in the views and nature of the Rocche of Roero. It can be reached by car in the Laione di Montà village or on foot along the Religious Path.

Santuario di Mombirone - CANALE
On the top of the Mombirone hill in Canale stands the sanctuary dedicated to the Madonna, of late nineteenth-century architecture, remodeled in the first quarter of the twentieth century, from which you can enjoy a truly remarkable panorama of the Roero.

Santuario di Madonna dei Boschi - VEZZA D’ALBA
Located on the top of a hill, it houses a very precious late Gothic fresco of the Annunciation in the attic. It can be reached by car, or on foot along the Sentiero del Tasso. To visit the interiors and the 15th century fresco of the Annunciation, the Sanctuary is open on Sundays in good weather.

Confraternita di San Francesco d’Assisi - SANTA VITTORIA D’ALBA
Inside it contains a precious cycle of frescoes from 1490-92, wonderfully unique in the local panorama: the deeply intense story of the Passion of Christ, developed in a total of 34 meters, divided into nineteen scenes of rare beauty.
Opening: every Sunday from May to October (except August), h. 3-6.30pm.

Confraternita dell’Annunziata - GUARENE
Valuable example of Piedmontese sacred architecture from the early eighteenth century in Baroque style: it was rebuilt between 1699 and 1713. Looking up you can admire the domed vault decorated with majestic eighteenth-century frescoes that play with perspectives, in a vertigo of fake architecture.
Open for visits thanks to Colline e Culture association.

Small church with portico which stands on a prestigious panoramic point in the Castellinaldo area. Its interiors contain two delightful cycles of sixteenth-century frescoes.

Cappella di San Ponzio Diacono - MONTICELLO D’ALBA
In the quiet of the Monticello cemetery, what remains of the ancient parish church contains a well-kept secret: the four oldest frescoes in the Roero, witnesses of a distant past characterized by the essentiality of the lines and simple shapes.

Cappella gentilizia del SS. Crocifisso - MAGLIANO ALFIERI
Splendid Baroque style chapel located inside the castle residence of the Alfieri Counts, completely decorated with eighteenth-century frescoes attributed to Operti, among majestic trompe l'oeil and dizzying angels in the sky.
It can be visited in conjunction with the openings of the Alfieri castle.

Cappella di San Bernardo - CASTAGNITO
Dedicated to the Saint of Chiaravalle, the chapel of San Bernardo is a very refined example of Piedmontese baroque architecture, and has the particularity of being leaning and inclined with respect to the ground, like the tower of Pisa!
Inside it hides an enigmatic fresco dated 1737, by an unknown artist.

Affreschi dalla Cappella della Madonna del Buontempo - CERESOLE D’ALBA
In the reception room of the Municipality of Ceresole d'Alba we can admire six 16th century frescoes torn from the walls of the chapel of the Madonna del Buontempo, now in ruins. The frescoes tell ancient stories of miracle-working saints, invoked by the local population against the plagues and wars that these areas experienced in the sixteenth century.
They can be visited in conjunction with the opening of the municipal offices.

Chiesa di San Michele in SANTO STEFANO ROERO
The church of San Michele Arcangelo overlooked the lost village of Anterixio, before its destruction by the Asti troops. It was rebuilt by the locals at their own expense in 1729, and its vaults host unpublished, well-made eighteenth-century frescoes representing the Evangelists.

Santuario del Tavoletto - SOMMARIVA PERNO
The sanctuary is located in a panoramic and suggestive position in the Tavoletto area, where in ancient times, between the 11th and 13th centuries, there was a fiefdom consisting of the castle and a small village. Abandoned towards the end of the 14th century, only the ancient parish church dedicated to the Madonna remained in the village, which was rebuilt in its current form in the mid-17th century. It once housed the altarpiece with the fifteenth-century Pietà attributed to Giovanni Martino Spanzotti, currently preserved in the church of the Rossi hamlet.

Cappella di San Rocco - SANTA VITTORIA D’ALBA
Also known as the "church of the Dead", it is located on the top of the village, in the area that housed the cemetery. Mentioned for the first time in 1522, it was rebuilt in 1792 and houses a permanent exhibition dedicated to fellow citizen Carlo Giuseppe Bertero (1789-1831), doctor, botanist and physicist.

Parrocchia di Sant’Antonio Abate (Old Parish Church) in Montà: inside it houses 14 canvases depicting the Via Crucis by the court painter Vittorio Amedeo Rapous, and 2 altarpieces attributed to Pietro Paolo Operti. It can be visited during open days or with accompaniment on request (Ecomuseum info: 0173 976181).
